This new book in the Life in Pacific Grove Series completes our collection of 12 books of personal stories, photos, and artworks gathered from Pacific Grove residents and visitors since 2016. Everyone who contributed has been included in each of the Pacific Grove books, creating a true grassroots collection where community pride and spirit resonate from every page.
     Many, many thanks to the hundreds of writers, photographers and artists who have shared their talent to make these books so special.
     This Monarchs edition of more than 300 photos captures the heart of Pacific Grove in splendid photo collages, some with parent and child photographers on the same page. Plus … local writers researched and wrote pertinent aspects of Monarch Sanctuary history.
     An accidental meeting resulted in an unexpected bounty. I met Lawrence Gay while we were both taking photographs in the Monarch Sanctuary. When I saw his magnificent results, I asked if he would be willing to contribute more to this book. The generosity of this patron of the arts is a special gift for this edition that I’m sure you’ll enjoy.
